Simple civil cases, small claims, and traffic matters could be resolved quickly and equitably by AI mediators, with clear and straightforward appeal rights to human judges preserved. In criminal justice, AI systems could accelerate administrative processes such as arraignments, bail recommendations, and parole reviews, while judges, juries, and human oversight remain fully responsible for determining guilt, sentencing, and major decisions.

Because laws in this vision would be written with clarity and automated compliance in mind, many minor infractions could become nearly impossible to commit accidentally, further reducing the volume of cases that reach court.
